Liberty, NY–The Liberty Public Library Senior Coffee Club meets the first Monday of each month from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.  Seniors are invited to the library for coffee, socialization, and pastries provided by the Friends of Liberty Library.  Each month the coffee club discusses a special topic and frequently has guest speakers.

At our February 3rd meeting, we are thrilled to announce that we will be joined by Mr. Mark Robinson, the Education Program Manager of Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.  He will be presenting the newest of the Education Department’s traveling trunks called The Times They are a-changin’ which traces the broad range of changes in American society from 1945 (the end of WWII) to 1976 (America’s Bicentennial). This trunk explores the social, political, scientific, cultural and other changes during this 30-year period to contextualize the changes in the 1960’s. Among many items, the trunk contains clothes representative of each decade, and timeline panels outlining changes in society.

Mr. Barry Lewis, columnist for the Times Herald Record will be the featured speaker at our Monday, March 3rd meeting discussing his many years of writing about the Catskill area and his 2008 book, From Brooklyn to Bucolic: the Life of Columnist Barry Lewis.

Seniors may use our rear parking area and entrance which is handicapped accessible.  For more information or to sign-up for the free coffee club, please call us at (845)292-6070.
