Hanofee Park

This is Liberty’s most developed park situated adjacent to Dixie Lake.  It is located on the East side of town on Sunset Lake Road off of State Route 52.  Hanofee Park spans 86 acres and offers the following amenities:

Olympic Swimming Pool, Three (3) Pavilions for rental, Baseball Field, Children’s Playground,Sand Volleyball Court,Full Basketball Court, Two (2) Tennis Courts, Hourse Shoe Pits, Sheltered Barbecue Pit, Walking Trails, Dixie Lake (row boat rentals)

Walnut Mountain Park
Walnut Mountain is the highest point in Liberty and the second highest point in Sullivan County at an elevation of 2,157 feet above sea level. The park covers a total of 265 acres and offers the following amenities:

Little League Baseball Field, Soccer Fields, Miles of Mountain Bike & Hiking Trails, Picnic Area, Playground, Pavilion and Breathtaking views at the summit.

Liberty Main Street Stage
The Liberty Main Street Stage is typically the focal point of major village events. It is located on North Main Street, Liberty, next to the Parks and Recreation office and is used for summer concerts, cultural/arts and special events.

Liberty Festival on the Fourth of July Parade and Celebration This Thursday!

The Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Village and Town of Liberty will be hosting its 26th Annual Summer Celebration on July 4th, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (raindate, Saturday, July 6, 2019. The event includes closing off North Main Street to vehicle traffic to accommodate the annual 4thof July Parade, Antique Car Show and more than sixty food, craft and retail vendors. The Antique Car Show, always a favorite, will be located at the Liberty Elementary School, and by popular demand, the entertainment this year will again be provided by the Other Band, a well-known local/regional band from Liberty. They will be playing their classic rock tunes at the Liberty Stage at LaPolt Park.

For the kids, don’t miss the Bouncy Houses and games presented by PartyMaster!

Last, but not least after hours there will be fireworks at dusk! Don’t miss this exciting display. Show up early for best visibility. Parking opposite Liberty Elks, or visit one of Liberty’s local establishments offering outdoor seating. You can have a bite to eat at Charlie’s Restaurant and Pizzeria or visit Downtown Barn where you can also grab a beer and listen to live music at their after party!
