Liberty CDC to Bring Touch-A-Truck Event to White Sulphur Springs
LIBERTY, NY: The Liberty Community Development Corporation is organizing Sullivan County’s first touch-a-truck event, to be held at the White Sulphur Springs Firemen’s Park on Shore Road (off State Rt. 52) on Saturday, May 18, from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Touch-a-truck events are popular community events around the country allowing kids (of all ages) to experience first-hand and up-close equipment one usually only observes from a safe distance: the vehicles and apparatuses of first responders, U.S. Armed Forces, construction and landscaping companies, farmers, utilities, and other specialty trades and service providers.
Sponsors for Liberty Touch-A-Truck include Robert Green Truck Division, the Monticello Motor Club, Rolling V Transportation, Ross Electric, Klein & Sons Logging, Jeff Bank, and First Niagara Bank. Media Sponsors are the Sullivan County Democrat and Thunder 102.
Says Heinrich Strauch, the CDC’s Executive Director: “We wanted to create a community event that is really fun for everybody and all ages. At the same time we will showcase all those that we frequently take for granted, but who are so critically important to make a community work: the fire departments, ambulances, utility companies, the people who build and maintain our infrastructure.” CDC Board President Alan Goodman adds: “We appreciate the support of the White Sulphur Springs Fire Department – their park on Shore Road is a great location for this type of event right off Rt. 52. We hope we’ll be able to pack the place throughout the day.”
The event is a fundraiser for the CDC, with proceeds going towards its community development and revitalization activities. Admission is $3 (free for under 3yo). Companies interested in participating with their vehicle(s) can obtain more information at email@example.com or (845) 292-8202.
